Hooper's has got to be one of my favorite crab places on the Shore. The food is just right and the service is mighty fine.

I would recommend it to any locals or visitors.

Keep up the good work!

Waterman's Seafood Co.
Waterman's is just great. The times I've spent there were excellent. The crabs were heavy and spicy. The chicken was good. Everything is fresh. The staff is very friendly. Unlike many other restaurants, the staff isn't standing around complaining to each other "when do you get off?" "I've been here since noon, etc".

Great job Waterman's, Keep it up!
My crab seasoning saturated thumb is way UP.

Yea the donuts are good. Of course, look at the competition. Salisbury needs a real bakery. Has anyone else ever noticed?

But let's talk restaurant. Twice I've had lunch at DeVage's. Both times the service was, shall we say "what service?" I guess, unless you're a regular, you're invisible.

As for my latest experience, while the staff gabbed it up with customers they knew, my wife and I sat at a table for over 15 minutes without a hi there, can I help you, or even get out. Truly amazing.

To the management... it only takes one experience like this, for someone to decide, they're never coming back!

By the time we were waited on, we were starving! As with most people in the middle of the weekday, we were under time restraints. The order took too long, and when it arrived at our table, it was incomplete. The rude waitress had to make at least 2 correction trips, due to her inattentiveness.

DeVages rating way overboard. Less stars please. Definitely a great place for snobs. Thumbs down from this side of the tracks.

Lombardi's
I've lived on the Eastern Shore for over 12 years and have eaten at many restaurants. As most folks have done, I too have rated eating establishments in my own head. As for Lombardi's, they're not in the top half of my list. Twice I've tried it, and twice I was very disappointed.

Another "over rated" local restaurant. The service was awful. Both times, the wait staff were members of the horrible generation, which can't pronounce the words "thank you". The pizza tasted homemade, as if "out of the freezer". The sauce must be aimed at little kids, who'll eat any pizza.

Have you seen the obnoxious TV commercials for Ovaltine? There's a bunch of whiney, obnoxious brats begging for Ovaltine. Well, Lombardi's has a radio commercial, that's been running for at least 3 years. It too has whiney, obnoxious kids all through it. Really irritating!

Even their 10 year old, worn out, radio commercial says it all.. (I can't believe the owners of Lombardi's has paid for these ads).. The announcer actually says; "the food is rather good". Rather infers; in comparison, and the competition is BETTER. Everytime that commercial comes on the radio, you'll hear a loud clicking sound. That's the sound of my radio being turned off.

Sorry Lombardi's but "Thumbs Down" and a big "BLAND" Rating from this epicurean.

I visited Phillips with out of town guests last week. Phillips has always had a tremendous reputation for crabs, which is the reason we went. All of us headed for the buffet, and here's the story.. All the food on the buffet was really good. However, the steamed crabs offered on the buffet were sad. Number one they were slow in coming to the buffet table and when they did, they were ALL small in size. Many were burnt or over cooked, and at least a third of them were extremely light to empty.

I would recommend the buffet, but with this note: Don't go if you're going for crabs. You'll never get your money's worth. However, if you want to dive in to all the rest (which is a lot), head to Phillips.

This has to be one of the best Chinese Buffets anywhere. I have been to many, in many other areas. None of which can compare. Whenever we have guests visiting from out of town, we make sure they get a trip to the Chinatown Buffet.

My inlaws insist on going there, whenever they visit from Baltimore.

The staff is extremely friendly, and all the food is always fresh and consistent.

Keep it up! Thanks!
