I ate here again last week and just wanted to say that my cheesesteak was fantastic! Definately the best (and meatiest) in town... Red Door (and the other delivery places) have nothing on the cheesesteak at DeVage's!

I don't know what the person in the first review is talking about... this is a carry out restaurant the has tables if you choose to sit down. You are supposed to order at the counter... duh, so that must be where their problem was. I think this is the only cheesesteak in town!! The cheesteaks are fabulous; definately the meatiest around. Fresh, ingredients and the steamed onions are awesome. I am not as big of a fan of the cold subs though. The fries are also fantastic. As far as the donuts go, I think they are good. They aren't as flavorful as DD sugar packed donuts because they aren't meant to be. They are the old style, traditional cake ones and come in a variety of coatings/topings. The staff is friendly and helpful.

I thought the place had a cool retro vibe. And, I think the subs are pretty good. HOWEVER, the donuts are terrible. They are tiny and tasteless. The variety is so limited that I wonder why they bothered to put "Donuts" in the title for the place! Unfortunately, I think they are trying to overextend their abilities. Also, in the number of times I've been there, all of the women working there seemed sour and unfriendly. The last couple of times I was there, a young gentleman waited on me and was quite friendly. To sum it up; so-so service, average-good subs, really bad donuts... about fair!

Personally I enjoy the retro feel of the place. From the black and white tiled floor to the albums on the walls. It maded me feel oh so nostalgic. It’s a mom and pop business to say the lease. Together a Mom. Pop, and Son run this great eatery seamlessly. The staff is very courteous and willing to go out of there way to make you feel welcome and satisfied. It only takes a few trips there and they already know what you want when you walk in the door! So if you like the feeling of not having to ramble out what you want, especially if you like myself and ALWAYS get the same thing. Then DeVages Subs and Donuts is the place for you!!! They know what you want before you do! And don’t just think of it as a donut joint! It’s got the best cheese steaks this side of philly!

Yea the donuts are good. Of course, look at the competition. Salisbury needs a real bakery. Has anyone else ever noticed?

But let's talk restaurant. Twice I've had lunch at DeVage's. Both times the service was, shall we say "what service?" I guess, unless you're a regular, you're invisible.

As for my latest experience, while the staff gabbed it up with customers they knew, my wife and I sat at a table for over 15 minutes without a hi there, can I help you, or even get out. Truly amazing.

To the management... it only takes one experience like this, for someone to decide, they're never coming back!

By the time we were waited on, we were starving! As with most people in the middle of the weekday, we were under time restraints. The order took too long, and when it arrived at our table, it was incomplete. The rude waitress had to make at least 2 correction trips, due to her inattentiveness.

DeVages rating way overboard. Less stars please. Definitely a great place for snobs. Thumbs down from this side of the tracks.
